I'm Heang, a Software Development student at AUPP in Phnom Penh, going into my second year on scholarship.

I got into coding because I like puzzles, since figuring out why something's broken and fixing it is basically what programming is. That curiosity turned into actually building stuff.

I interned in sales at FWD life insurance for a bit, and it didn't take long to figure out it wasn't for me because I just wanted to be back at my computer building things.

On the academics side, I scored 7.5 on IELTS, got a grade A for BACLL and my diploma, and took a public speaking course at ACE. I also study Chinese most weekday evenings on top of coursework at American University of Phnom Penh.

Beyond class, I've done the SGDSxSports Exchange Program, competed in the Aspiration Program government competition, volunteered at AUPP's Sangkran Festival (2026), and been team leader for groups across multiple projects.

Outside of code, I play badminton and go to the gym.

I care about staying current as AI moves fast, so I'm deliberate about how I use it: managing context well, watching token usage, and knowing when a model actually helps versus when it gets in the way. What I like most isn't the building itself, it's shipping something and having people actually use it. Every project below taught me something I didn't already know.
